The short version

Give each party slot a job: primary fighter, elemental answer, travel utility, capture control and one flexible slot for the current objective.

Before you begin

Primary combat Pal
Elemental counter
Movement Pal
Capture utility
Flexible worker or carrier
Food for every active Pal

Assign one job per slot

  • A role makes it obvious which Pal should enter a fight and which should stay safe.
  • Avoid carrying two Pals that solve the same matchup unless the next boss demands it.
  • Change the flexible slot before each expedition rather than rebuilding the entire party.

Check active skills, not just species

  • A correct element is useful only when the equipped skills can land reliably.
  • Mix quick, dependable attacks with one larger cooldown instead of loading three slow moves.
  • Keep enough distance and terrain access for the Pal's attack style.

Test the team on a real route

  • Run one normal expedition and note which slot never contributed.
  • Replace dead weight with the missing utility: carry, movement, capture or counter damage.
  • A team that returns safely with the objective complete is stronger than a paper damage ranking.
